But of that day and hour knoweth no [man], no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noe [were], so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Matthew 24:36-39

Let me first say that this passage can be interpreted into two different meanings. Many Christians believe that it should be read from a present day stance meaning that no [man] will ever know the day and hour. Some believe that we should read this passage from a past point of view. This would mean that no [man] knew the day and hour at the time this was written. Which interpretation is correct? If we believe that no [man] knew at the time the passage was written then maybe at some point it would be possible to know the day and hour. But is this really the case?

Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. Revelation 3:3

Here we can find Jesus Christ telling the church in Sardis that they are supposed to be watching for his return. If they fail to watch for his return then Jesus would come unto them like a thief. This means that Jesus would return for the church without them being aware. My guess is that those who were unaware would either be left behind or surprisingly awakened by the sound of the archangel. It's safe to say that we should be eagerly watching for the day and hour of the Lords visitation. Our lamps must always be full and ready for the time of our departure. Just like in the days of Noah! Him and his family were all aware that the flood was about to happen (even seven days before). Is Revelation 3:3 commanding us to be aware of the day and hour that Jesus will return for his church?

Or is the Lord telling us that the great tribulation will be our seven year warning system?

God bless you Brother Brandon;

Your heart for Christ is such a blessing to the Brethren.

Paul tells the Believers in Thessalonica to Watch.

Here is a response which I just wrote in the Marilyn Agee date setting thread which could address your post:

A servant of Christ,

Psalm 91:

1: He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2: I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

I think that by watching we can know the SEASON, if not necessarily the actual date/time of the rapture.  IMHO.

Very well said. For if Jesus himself will not know till the appointed time no man can know. But we can see the signs of the season. This is all on God the Fathers time not ours. His will be done.

Yes, the signs are everywhere right now! Yesterday I was watching John Hagee, he felt as though the hand of Jesus was "on the door knob of heaven". Big words but the facts stand, [I can tell just by what's in the news] we are about to go home.

 Rapture

The evidence is as clear as glass... glory, I'm so excited!

Charlie -- Yes, definitely time for those who have been redeemed to be doing as we are told to do in Luke 21:28

And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

God Bless you.   Charlie.

Amen and Amen brothers and sisters. We'll be together soon and all our questions will be answered.

Praise the name of the Lord our God!

Maranatha.

You will be found worthy my sister. God our Father sees you through the blood of His Son. Christ's blood has redeemed us and reconciled us to the Father. In and of ourselves, no, we would never be found worthy. But praise the name of our Lord, because of Jesus we can be counted worthy if we abide in him.

Charlie -- I agree we CAN BE counted worthy.

Like yourself, I know I am not worthy so I pray I will be accounted worthy as Jesus tells us to do in Luke 21:36.

God Bless you.  Charlie.
