Obadiah verses 15 through 20 could describe the triumph of Israel over the Canaanites and Palestinian peoples if Israel is divided by the United States and the quartet group through the setting up of a Palestinian state upon the land God has given to Israel.  We should pray for the peace of Jerusalem and the preservation of Israel through these perilous times.

Netanyahu demands Israeli presence in West Bank

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said Wednesday that Israel must have a presence in the West Bank to stop rockets from being imported even after a peace agreement is achieved, the first time he has spelled out such a demand.

PM about peace negotiations: The Palestinians are climbing up a tree.
He said the experience of rocket attacks from the Lebanese and Gaza borders means Israel must be able to prevent such weapons from being brought into any future Palestinian entity in the West Bank.

(IsraelNN.com) United States envoy to the Middle East George Mitchell arrived in the region this week in efforts to further press the Jewish state into relinquishing territory to the American-backed Palestinian Authority. According to PA sources quoted by the London-based Arabic newspaper al-Hayat, Mitchell is unveiling a five-point plan that will force local parties back to the negotiating table and press Israel to retreat back to the Armistice Line that existed between the Jewish state and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan between the years 1949 and 1967.

And I might add that there is nothing in the scriptures that define the existance of a "Palestinian" state contiguous to Israel at the time of the end

So I would not look for this to take place as part of any peace agreement which is a continuous excercise in futility that never materializes ..... because the Islamics will never agree to anything less than the removal of Israel from the Middle East

Israel's very presence is a threat and off set to the very root of Islam and this religion's foundations cannot accept the presence of the hated "Jew" within the Islamic Middle East

If they were a sovereign state Israel could do little about weapons buildup and could not make military incursions, and the right of return would destroy the Jewish Israel in a short time. This is what they really want:   

Their visions still fall far short of what any Palestinian advocate of a single state would consider to be just: The Israeli proposals insist on maintaining the state's character - at least symbolically - as a "Jewish state," exclude the Gaza Strip, and do not address the rights of Palestinian refugees.
