"it would seem that we will have a simple transition from this present age into the next age and that all of mankind will enter into the dominion of Christ."
It would seem you don't know what you are talking about Tom. At the end of the age when the power of the holy people is broken Christ will come and raise the saints (rapture) and they together with the angels will subdue the world for Christ the king.
"Let the saints rejoice in this honor and sing for joy on their beds. May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands, to inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples, to bind their kings with fetters, their nobles with shackles of iron." Psalms 149:5-8 NIV
Smooth transition?

It would seem to me that there is an error in some of your statement in your quoted post.
10 Go through, go through the gates,
prepare the way for the people;
build up, build up the highway,
clear it of stones,
lift up an ensign over the peoples.
11 Behold, the Lord has proclaimed
to the end of the earth:
Say to the daughter of Zion,
"Behold, your salvation comes;
behold, his reward is with him,
and his recompense before him."
12 And they shall be called The holy people,
The redeemed of the Lord;
and you shall be called Sought out,
a city not forsaken.
Isaiah 62:10-12
17 O Lord, why dost thou make us err from thy ways
and harden our heart, so that we fear thee not?
Return for the sake of thy servants,
the tribes of thy heritage.
18 Thy holy people possessed thy sanctuary a little while;
our adversaries have trodden it down.
19 We have become like those over whom thou hast never ruled,
like those who are not called by thy name.
Isaiah 63:17-19
5 Then I Daniel looked, and behold, two others stood, one on this bank of the stream and one on that bank of the stream.
6 And I said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the stream, "How long shall it be till the end of these wonders?" 7 The man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the stream, raised his right hand and his left hand toward heaven; and I heard him swear by him who lives forever that it would be for a time, two times, and half a time; and that when the shattering of the power of the holy people comes to an end all these things would be accomplished.
8 I heard, but I did not understand. Then I said, "O my lord, what shall be the issue of these things?"
9 He said, "Go your way, Daniel, for the words are shut up and sealed until the time of the end.
10 Many shall purify themselves, and make themselves white, and be refined; but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand; but those who are wise shall understand.
11 And from the time that the continual burnt offering is taken away, and the abomination that makes desolate is set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.
12 Blessed is he who waits and comes to the thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.
13 But go your way till the end; and you shall rest, and shall stand in your allotted place at the end of the days."
Daniel 12:5-13
Now if it seems to me that the nation of Gog together with many other nations is to come up against the “Holy people” in Jerusalem about 3,500 years {based on what we know now}, after Daniel received this final recorded prophecy in the Book of Daniel. If that is so then the time, times and a half is not associated in any way with half of the week that a covenant is made with many people mentioned in Daniel 9:27. Revelations 20:7-10 talks of this time and it is God who sends down fire from heaven to consume these people who have marched up against the City of Zion and caused the Holy People to break their clasped hands in worship as fear undoes their resolve to continually worship God. Is this not the time that Jesus spoke of?
3 But that same night the word of the Lord came to Nathan,
4 "Go and tell my servant David, 'Thus says the Lord: You shall not build me a house to dwell in.
5 For I have not dwelt in a house since the day I led up Israel to this day, but I have gone from tent to tent and from dwelling to dwelling.
6 In all places where I have moved with all Israel, did I speak a word with any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd my people, saying, "Why have you not built me a house of cedar?"'
7 Now therefore thus shall you say to my servant David, 'Thus says the Lord of hosts, I took you from the pasture, from following the sheep, that you should be prince over my people Israel;
8 and I have been with you wherever you went, and have cut off all your enemies from before you; and I will make for you a name, like the name of the great ones of the earth.
9 And I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in their own place, and be disturbed no more; and violent men shall waste them no more, as formerly,
10 from the time that I appointed judges over my people Israel;
and I will subdue all your enemies. Moreover I declare to you that the Lord will build you a house.
11 When your days are fulfilled to go to be with your fathers,
I will raise up your offspring after you, one of your own sons, and I will establish his kingdom. 12 He shall build a house for me, and I will establish his throne forever.
13 I will be his father, and he shall be my son; I will not take my steadfast love from him, as I took it from him who was before you,
14 but I will confirm him in my house and in my kingdom forever and his throne shall be established forever.'"
15 In accordance with all these words, and in accordance with all this vision, Nathan spoke to David.
1 Chronicles 17:3-15
Now when we read the word “forever” in this Chronicles passage, God is talking of Christ and a time in the distant future when He will accomplish these things. God said that he would subdue the enemies of the Holy people and does not include “us” even as helpers to do so. God does not want us to damage His Glory and His Holiness and thus profane it.
For people, there will be no transformation of our physical bodies as we transverse the demarcation of the end of this present age and the beginning of the next, “Millennium” age. In fact most of us will miss the transition from this age to the next and it will not be until all has been accomplished that we will realise this.
Now Ron I am not in the practice of blowing bubbles while taking a bath nor am I doing that now in this thread. Nor do I need, mint, Cummings or dill to treat any symptoms associated with bad food.
My views are based firmly on scripture and because of my faith I do not fear the tribulation that is before us. I do not approach scripture from a position of fear but with excitement as I observe God doing His thing and all that I can do is to watch and applaud Him as He accomplishes His purposes for mankind, myself included.
Shalom
Tom
